Finish grading and hydro-seeding have been among our specialties since 1951, and one of our first projects many years ago was the George Washington Memorial Parkway. We are equipped with the latest rubber track Mustang skid loaders and all of the attachments to transform a rough graded property to a smooth level surface. Our soil conditioner and landscape rake are used to prepare the best seed bed possible. We still know how to use hand tools and we use hand rakes to remove any small rocks that the equipment may have left.
Hydro-Seeding
Hydro-seeding is the process where we mix seed, fertilizer, and mulch with water. We mix all of these elements in the tank of our hydro-seeder and pump. The agitation paddle uniformly mixes the three products into a slurry that we then spray onto the freshly prepared seedbed. Depending on the time of year and the size of the project, we may incorporate our straw blower. After blowing the straw, we tack the straw with the mulch that is used in the hydro-seeding process to ensure that the straw stays in place and is not blown away by the wind. Regardless of how you seed, the secret to a stand of grass is WATER!!!
